We are a family of Kiwis who moved to California some years ago. We feel fortunate to now split our time between the States and New Zealand. Originally, we came to Kaikoura for its farming environment and to be near the famed surf of Mangamaunu. As Kaikoura’s eco-marine tourism grew, our labors here evolved. A family full of architects and builders, the idea of creating a contemporary country inn was expanded by the process into Hapuku Lodge + Tree Houses. We continue to learn what’s involved in the process.
